BHPSC AGM Saturday 29 June – Reports, Poems and Palestinian tea

Dear members and prospective members of BHPSC –
Here is your invitation to our AGM

If you are not already a member you can join on the day, though please note that only paid-up members are eligible to vote in the business part of the AGM.

BHPSC AGM Saturday 29 June – Reports, Poems and Palestinian tea

Friends Meeting House, Ship Street, Brighton, 3 pm – 5.30 pm

Please come and join us on the afternoon of 29 June  – to take stock of our vital campaigning work and to celebrate Palestine.  Agenda as follows:

  • AGM business:  Reports, elections (officers and committee) and any resolutions
  • Poetry reading and thoughts on the cultural boycott

Naomi Foyle,  founder of British Writers in Support of Palestine and author of the novel Seoul  Survivor will read poems of her own and by Palestinian poets

  • And to conclude, a delicious Palestinian tea

Please send nominations for Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and 7 committee members (to include Membership Secretary) to Ann Hallam (ann.hallam@talk21.com).  Nominations can also be accepted on the day.  We would welcome new candidates for office or for membership of the committee (which meets mainly as part of the monthly supporters’ planning meetings, on the 2nd Monday evening of the month). Anyone who would like to volunteer to stand, more details of what the various jobs involve, or a copy of BHPSC’s constitution, please write to Ann, as above.

This is also the time for renewing BHPSC annual subscriptions, which remain at £10 waged and £5 concessions. So if you can’t come to the AGM please renew your sub, either via the membership renewal page on this website, or send a cheque to BHPSC, c/o Brighton Peace and Environment Centre, 39-41 Surrey Street, Brighton BN1 1AF. Please provide your full name, postal address, phone no. and email address so we can update our records. Donations also welcome of course! Thank you and we hope to see you at the AGM.
