Brighton-Palestine Connect: A virtual meeting with comrades in Palestine

“FRAGMENTATION AND RESISTANCE”

Thursday 24 September 2020
6.30pm UK / 8.30pm Palestine

Please join us for our first Zoom meeting in the Brighton-Palestine Connect series.

The meetings will provide the opportunity for BHPSC members and supporters to connect with and hear from people in Palestine directly.
 
In this first meeting the guests come from a range of backgrounds and different experiences of living in Gaza, the West Bank and the Jordan Valley.

Dalal al Taji, a professor and advocate for people with disabilities, lives and teaches in Khan Younis, Gaza. Dalal will bring her perspective on those living with disabilities in Gaza, informed by her experience as a blind person, as an advocate for those with disabilities and her work at the College of Ability and Development in Gaza.

Sam Bahour will focus on commercial development in Palestine where he supports several community organisations and facilitates links with support groups in the US. He writes frequently on Palestinian affairs and has been widely published. He is co-editor of HOMELAND: Oral History of Palestine and Palestinians.

Rashid Khudairi is the Palestinian co-ordinator of Jordan Valley Solidarity, a network of Palestinian communities collectively resisting Israel’s attempts to ethnically cleanse them. He will talk about JVS’s strategy of ‘To exist is to resist’.

There will be opportunities for participants to join in the discussion and/or ask questions.
