We are very pleased to announce our AGM for 2022 – our first AGM since 2019, and our first in-person meeting for over two years!

We are also delighted to announce that our Guest Speaker at the AGM will be from Amnesty International, and will be discussing Amnesty’s recent report ‘Israel’s apartheid against Palestinians: Cruel system of domination and crime against humanity’ – details below.

The AGM will begin with a brief business meeting, followed by the talk by our speaker. Refreshments will be served at the end, to enable us to socialise after a very long absence!

All BHPSC members are encouraged to attend, to help plan our future activities, to re-connect with the group, and to pay your membership subscription for 2022-23.

Non-members are welcome – though of course you will encouraged to join BHPSC. Non-members will not be able to vote in the business meeting.

Guest speaker: Garry Ettle, Country Coordinator (AIUK), Israel / Palestine (State of) – Middle East & Gulf Region
Amnesty International’s report ‘Israel’s apartheid against Palestinians: Cruel system of domination and crime against humanity’

Amnesty International research shows that Israeli authorities are enforcing a system of apartheid against the Palestinian people in Israel and the OPT, and against Palestinian refugees. The recent report documents how Israel treats Palestinians as an inferior racial group, segregating and oppressing them wherever it has control over their rights. This talk will outline the policies and practices that shape this apartheid situation and what Israel and the international community must do to end it.

*The BMECP Centre is in Fleet Street, very close to the large Sainsbury’s supermarket in New England Street. Nearest bus stops are York Hill in London Road or Brighton Station. The Centre is wheelchair accessible via a lift.
