Sumud flotilla sails despite Israeli intimidation:
On Monday 2 December 2011 Gazan fisherfolk and hundreds of their Palestinian supporters as well as international activists participated in a flotilla to highlight the Israeli restrictions, harassment and violence against fishermen.
The demonstration was organised jointly by the General Union of Fishermen and the Intifada Youth Coalition. The General Union of Fishermen represents fishermen from all over the Gaza Strip.

Stop Corporate Complicity in the Prawer Plan
Yesterday morning Palestinians gathered in Gaza City’s As-Saha market to protest against the Prawer Plan. The event was part of a Global ‘Day of Rage’ against the Israeli government plan which plans to forcibly evict up to 70 000 Palestinian Bedouin into seven reservations. The rally was called by the Intifada Youth Coalition and included speeches by the Coalition and a government spokeswoman.

Palestinians hold solidarity vigil to remember prisoners in Israeli jails
Palestinians held a demonstration at the offices of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Gaza City today in solidarity with Palestinian political prisoners in Israeli jails. The demonstration has been held every week since 1995 to remember the prisoners and is a focal point for organising prisoner solidarity campaigns.

Gazan Farmers and Fisherfolk call for food sovereignity and an end to Israeli attacks
On 20th November 2013 hundreds of farmers and fisherfolk gathered outside the United Nations Special Coordinator for the Middle East (UNSCO) in Gaza City to demand that the international community take action to prevent the Israeli military’s attacks against them and to end the occupation.
One fisherman told Corporate Watch, “We are only looking for our daily food and a livelihood. We want to ask the UN to pressure the Israeli occupation not to attack us, we are just trying to earn a living for our families”.

On 2nd November 2013 Israeli forces fired tear gas at Palestinians demonstrating in the Gaza buffer zone East of Gaza City, by the Nahal Oz checkpoint. A report of the demonstration by an eyewitness can be viewed here. Pictures of one of the canisters fired at the activists are shown below.

Palestinian Prisoners Association Calls for the Prosecution of G4S
Hussam Association, a Gaza based organisation of current and former Palestinian detainees in Israeli jails, has released the following statement calling for the prosecution of G4S. G4S, a British/Danish multinational company, holds a contract with the Israeli Prison ‘Service’ to supply Israeli jails with equipment and services
